Turnstone's staff are recruited for their willingness to learn and their fit with the organisation's values:
They are expected to have good and flexible communication skills, and a 'can do' attitude.
Thanks to our in-house and external training programmes, Turnstone is at the leading edge of training delivery in the Social Care sector. All new support workers are required to complete a 12 week induction and training programme under supervision from a senior member of staff, and are encouraged to take NVQs in relevant subjects as soon as practicable.
As new legislation comes into force which requires support workers to undergo additional training, this is made available to them and they are encouraged to take it as soon as possible. See working for us.
Turnstone also offers a wide range of specialist training courses for staff, for example:
Many managers are funded to complete formal management training, such as NVQs in Management and the Diploma in Management Studies.
