Renowned for its staff expertise and service user focus Turnstone can deliver the most complex of support and care services tailored for you. Your life, your choice, your way.

Types of Support

Each person's support is personalised to their precise needs, and so our services vary widely. Some people require just a few hours support each week, perhaps with shopping, being introduced to new social groups and managing their money, and some require round the clock support. Whatever the level of support required however, the individuals choose just how, when and where they are supported.

The people in our services are supported by a team of people, including:

  • Support workers
  • Assistant team managers
  • Team leaders
  • A team manager
  • A link worker

The role of the support workers is to encourage and support people to live as independently as possible, to take an active role in the community, and to achieve their dreams and desires. Everybody's idea of a fulfilling and happy life is different, hence Turnstone staff focus on supporting each person to live a life which is meaningful and satisfying to them.

A link worker works closely with each individual to ensure all their needs are being met, supporting them to co-ordinate their support plans and activities.

For those people who require 24-hour support, Turnstone runs a number of registered care homes. The larger part of the support Turnstone provides falls into the category of community support or supported living, where we typically work with individuals for an agreed number of hours each week, in the community or in their own homes.

We have embraced the government's personalisation agenda, already piloting personalised day services where activities come to the individual and are tailored to them, and are excited by the opportunity to work with commissioners still further to develop a menu of innovative services for a range of individual needs.
